Sancha Mahalingam

Sancharieni (Sancha) Mahalingam has been a resident of York Region since 2013. She has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, majoring in English and Physical Anthropology. She obtained her LLB from the University of Calgary in 2009.

Sancha currently practices family law in the Greater Toronto Area, working with many legally aided clients, including those affected by intimate partner violence. Her work involves guiding clients in resolving issues related to parenting, financial support, and equalization of net family property, through negotiation and litigation. 

Sancha’s involvement with the Community Legal Clinic of York Region Board allows her to continue to serve the community she lives in. The Board’s mandate aligns with her decades-long commitment to assisting low-income individuals access justice.
